Vandals raged in the Church of Saint James
Niederkassel - The window is full of holes like Swiss cheese.
The valuable leaded windows smashed, twisted, splintered. The adjoining cemetery devastated. It was the work of vandals infidel!
The unknowns were raging in the Catholic Church of Saint James in Lülsdorf. Three nights. Just for the pleasure of destruction. Their "missiles," they brought with them: rocks, half as large as paving stones.
"They have only in the entrance, then raging in two windows," says Father Alexander Lubomierski (52) speechless. He found the spot some of the projectiles. They still clung to the gold color of the leaded windows.
During one of the historical church window only has one hole, the other is completely damaged. According Lubomierski the damage goes into the tens of thousands.
"The repair is devouring money that would otherwise be used for social purposes," the church Pfarrer.Drei nights of terror. In addition to the thrown-in windows, the unknowns were raging on the adjacent cemetery.
Without respect for the dead, they trampled on the graves, grave damaged lights and stole an angel. In the church, they destroyed a baptismal font, spilled candle wax.
Notes on the perpetrators: nil. These were all hoping to catch them red-handed. Residents are aware, the police intensified patrolling drives.
Pastor Lubomierski raises the alarm, even at night, I watch all two hours away from his home in the 100 meters after the church rights. So far, the vandals were not.
